Client Hair Care Routine After Your initial consultation
During your consultation, you’ll receive a thorough analysis and personalized overview of your hair’s unique needs. We’ll help you understand your hair type, condition, and the best care practices tailored just for you. Following this, here are a few easy tips to keep your hair healthy and manageable on your own:
1. For Oily Scalp and Hair: Use a clarifying shampoo.
2. For dry scalp and hair, using a hydration shampoo is essential to add moisture during your wash routine. Start by cleansing with a gentle hydrating shampoo to help replenish lost moisture and soothe dryness. When you use a clarifying shampoo once a month to remove buildup, follow it immediately with a second shampoo round using the hydrating shampoo. This helps restore hydration, preventing your scalp and hair from becoming overly dry or stripped after clarifying. Maintaining this balance supports healthier, more nourished curls and afro textures.
2. Shampooing: Shampoo the hair twice. Don’t expect to see suds or bubbles from the first shampoo, as it’s working to remove buildup. You’ll notice more lather during the second shampoo, indicating that the buildup has been cleansed.
3. Conditioning: After rinsing out the shampoo, apply a conditioner and detangle your hair with a suitable tool while the conditioner is in the hair. Once the hair is detangled, rinse out the conditioner thoroughly.
4. Drying: Avoid using a towel to dry your hair. Instead, squeeze the access water and leave it partially wet. Immediately after rinsing the conditioner, apply a leave-in conditioner (also known as a hair moisturizer).
5. Distribute the Moisturizer: Use a detangling tool to distribute the leave-in conditioner evenly throughout your hair.
6. Styling:
• For Tighter Curls: You may want to style your hair in a protective style, such as twists or braids.
• For Open hair: Apply a curl-defining gel, then use a diffuser to dry your hair while shaping the curls.
